Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!

Many years ago, I looked at Earth Day as a day that extreme environmentalists used to scold the rest of us.

Now, as I have lived more, learned more and seen more, I realize that we should ALL be extreme environmentalists.

Did you know that plastic bags in the landfills take up to 1,000 years to decompose? Did you know that all the paper we use causes a double whammy on the environment? The process of making paper causes emissions which the trees we have cut down help eliminate.

I have come to realize that I want to leave the world in a better place than when I came into it. Not only by helping others (another blog) but by keeping Earth alive for the future. What we do (and have been doing) affects the future. How selfish past generations (and I'm in one of them)have been to use what we want and not think that it would ever run out. Amazing!

I now think about my nephew and his friends. What will the world be like when he's my age? Will we have done enough to save some resources for them?

I've begun a website to sell items that are good for the environment. You will find these items in my home, as well. Take a look at www.LiveGreenOnTheNet.com

Happy Earth Day!
