5 Week RESET Challenge

Yesterday, I started the 5 Week RESET Challenge, one week ahead of our team.  Although I've lost 20 pounds previously, I "maintained" for a while, so I wanted to have a fresh experience before our team does.

As part of RESET or any other behavior modification, it is good to keep a journal (I keep many including a gratitude journal).  Write down what you eat, when, and how you are feeling.  I also write down why I'm doing this, why I want to lose the last 20 pounds - for me, the health benefits - and what this will mean.  It is always good to have a why (a really big why) to help you get over the humps.

I will not only keep my journal, but will keep you all informed here as my challenge unfolds.  For me, the challenge is to lose the weight, keep it off, and be the healthiest 50 year old on the planet.  (I plan to live to 115, you know).

Day 1 was full of enthusiasm.  I was determined to start this and make this work.  The first 5 days is the hardest for me, as this is the RESET phase.  In this phase, I am re-teaching my body not to crave those foods that are unhealthy.  I'm not to say that I will never eat a slice of pizza again, but I will eat one and only a few times a year.  I did well feeling full, satisfied and energetic the whole day.

Day 2 was a bit harder for me.  I wanted to eat dinner with my husband.  He's very supportive (essential to my success) and got me through dinner.  He will be joining the Challenge at a later date.  I was working more on my computer today, unlike yesterday when I was moving about the house, so I wanted to snack more.  I did exercise today for 25 minutes.  I found that to be the missing piece.  It is very important to exercise.  This needs to be a lifetime commitment.  As soon as I let up, I totally stop.  Find what you love to do so that it won't be a chore.  Have fun!!!  Your body will love you for it.

Moving on now to Day 3!  We're busy all day so that will make things a bit easier.  Off to a Usana presentation in the evening.  It's always wonderful to be around like-minded, healthy individuals.

Till later!

To your Life Long Health,
Rose
